We have been extremely lucky in the wake of the earthquake and tsunami and only suffered minor landscaping damage. We would like to reassure all those guests that have booked for holidays at the resort for both now, and in the immediate future, that the resort is fully operational. Electricity is restored and the pool will be pumping tomorrow.
For those of you with immediate travel arrangements for stays at Sa’Moana Resort we can assure you that you will still be able to have a great holiday. W…

Miraculously Sa’Moana Resort has been spared any serious damage from the recent earthquake and the following
Tsunami. All our guests were quickly and safely evacuated to high ground and after the all clear were returned to the resort to resume their holidays.
Faleolo International Airport is fully operational as is the business centre and Capital Apia.
Superficial damage was quickly repaired and most of that was wave damage to the resort grounds. The swimming pool is expected to be runn…

I was checking the swell models and noticed a large red blob headed towards Western Australia and Indonesia. If you're one of the fortunate few who can drop everything and jump on a plane this could be your chance to score! My destination of choice would be
WavePark Mentawai.

March 30, 2009
I recently booked a May round-trip Alaska Airlines flight to and from Cabo San Lucas for a base price of $150.00. The after-tax rate of $249 is perhaps the lowest I've paid for a trip to Land's End in 20 years.
Of course if you've watched the news, you know that Mexico is now ruled entirely by drug lords and crooked cops. I'll have to dodge bullets, inspect shadows for kidnappers and check my fish cooler for human heads.…

All I can say right now is that the surf has been pretty good down here in the Bocas for the past week. During the last four days I've logged over 15 hours in the water and have the sunburn to prove it. My 6'5" Stamps EPS Epoxy Swallow tail has been spot on in surf up to three feet overhead.
I surfed for four hours the day before yesterday without my XCEL rashguard and got totally fried so I have been wearing it ever since. I bought some Head Hunter skin tone 30 sunscreen at Kanvas by Katin bef…

I left Red Frog Bungalows and I am now staying in the main town of Bocas. The Bungalows are located in the rain forest and are very nice. There is cell phone reception there but no internet yet. I'll have to post my daily blogs later.
Today is the first day of sunshine since I arrived in Bocas del Toro on Tuesday. During that time we have probably seen over 20 inches of rain. If this is the dry season I would hate to see what the wet season is like. The fortunate thing is that with all the weat…

My day started with my alarm going off at 4:45AM. I took a quick shower and I was off to LAX. I was all packed so getting ready was easy.
I flew on Continental primarily because of their surfboard policy. They allow for 2 surfboards in 1 bag for $100. Not good but better than the rest of the domestic airlines. The kicker is if you have three boards in a bag they can charge $400 each way. So, at the last minute i decided not to take the risk and I left my 6'8" at home. That means I am guaranteed…

Panama. Every time I say it the Van Halen song pops into my head. I leave on Monday and I am so looking forward to this trip. We have had a hideous winter in my area of Southern California. I'll be at the
Red Ed Frog Bungalows Panama Resort on Tuesday morning eager to get in the water for my first surf.
For surfboards I am taking three
Tim Stamps surfboards. My trusty 6'8…

Surf Trip .com is heading to Panama! We were invited by Scott Balogh of
Red Frog Bungalows to come down and check out their Eco Resort and we gladly accepted.
Round trip airfare from LAX to Panama City from Lax was only $310.00 round trip on Continental Airlines. Plus, Continental only charges $100 or 2 boards per bag. I plan on slipping 3 of my…
